MIGZ (Minimally Invasive Gynaecology Zadar) is Croatia's first and only GESEA-certified centre for education in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. One of just 25 such centres in the world. The centre runs simulation-based training using Karl Storz equipment, leading to internationally recognised ESGE certificates. Faculty includes dr. Frane Markulić (chief mentor), dr. Luka Matak (director) and dr. Istvan Argay (GESEA4EU coordinator).
GESEA (Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgical Education and Assessment) is the international structured training and certification programme for minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, established 20+ years ago. ESGE (European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy) issues GESEA certificates — the recognised European standard of surgical competency.
Yes. MIGZ is the only accredited GESEA centre in Croatia and the nearest one for surgeons from the former Yugoslav region — the natural destination for MIGS training across Central and South-Eastern Europe.
Two main groups: residents in gynaecology who want to build MIGS skills during their specialisation without learning on real patients, and junior and senior specialists already in practice who want to formalise their skills with a recognised European certificate.
Three formats: 3-day courses with ESGE certificate covering laparoscopy, suturing and hysteroscopy with full certification exams; exam-only sessions (1 day) for candidates who trained elsewhere; and advanced workshops (2 days) covering V-Notes surgery and Caesarean section techniques beyond the standard curriculum.
Level 1 — Foundations covers core psychomotor skills (LASTT1, SUTT1, HYSTT1) plus theoretical exam (TESTT1, 50 questions). No prerequisites. Level 2 — Advanced Skills covers higher-complexity scenarios (LASTT2, SUTT2, HYSTT2, TESTT2 with 100 questions). Level 1 certification is a mandatory prerequisite.
All training takes place in a dry lab using Karl Storz simulator stations (~EUR 30,000 each). Format: minimal lectures, maximum hands-on simulator time with direct instructor feedback throughout.
Maximum 10-12 per course. Non-negotiable — more participants means less simulator time and less individual attention, which MIGZ refuses to compromise.
English is the default. Croatian may be used when all participants are native speakers but cannot be guaranteed in advance.
A GESEA Level 1 or Level 2 Certificate issued by ESGE — the recognised European standard for MIGS competency. Digital, recognised across Europe. Objective proof of surgical skill that a specialisation diploma alone cannot provide.
No. You must pass all assessment components: theoretical exam (TESTT) and all three practical assessments (LASTT, SUTT, HYSTT). The GESEA standard is built on objective validation, not participation.
If you do not pass one or more assessment components, you can book a separate exam-only session to re-attempt them. Re-examination is charged at the published exam-only rate.
Yes. Exam-only sessions are 1-day at EUR 450 for candidates who have already trained. For Level 2 exams, proof of a valid Level 1 certificate is required.

No. MIGZ uses guest checkout. Your confirmation and R1 invoice are sent directly to your email address.
Yes. When a course is fully booked, join the waiting list via the event page. If a spot opens we contact you by email. No payment required to join the waiting list.
Yes, at any time before the course. Email hello@migz.eu with the new participant details. Transfers are free of charge.
MIGZ accepts online payment by valid credit or debit card during checkout. Your place is reserved only after the full payment succeeds.
No deposit, no instalments. The full course fee is charged at registration. Your spot is confirmed on full payment only.
Yes. An R1 fiscal invoice is auto-generated and sent to your email within 24 hours of payment. All prices include Croatian VAT.
Yes. Enter institution billing details at checkout and the R1 invoice will be issued to your institution.
More than 30 days before the course: 100% refund. From 14 to 30 days before: 50% refund. Less than 14 days before: no refund, although you may transfer your place. No-shows are not refunded. Send every cancellation request to hello@migz.eu.
If MIGZ cancels a course, every registered participant receives a full refund. MIGZ is not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs connected with the cancellation.

Accommodation is organised exclusively for invited international faculty. Participants arrange their own. Zadar has a wide range of hotels and apartments at various price points.
By air: Zadar Airport (ZAD) with direct EU connections. By car: A1 motorway from Zagreb (approx. 3h) and Split (approx. 1.5h). By bus: regular routes from Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and internationally. By ferry: connections along the Adriatic coast.
All simulation equipment is provided. Bring comfortable clothing, your confirmation email, and any prerequisite certificates (Level 1 certificate if attending Level 2).
